Summary: This was my little girl’s first beach trip. It was a family trip, and a bit sentimental for all of us due to that & my FIL’s recent passing. We booked the Oceanview Suite with a King, a Queen & a bunk bed to have enough room for 5 people. Imagine how mad I am finding a loose stimulant pill for narcolepsy/ADHD that would’ve killed my daughter in the pillow/linens drawer. Now, imagine how mad I am for the reason I was using that drawer. Housekeeping apparently uses room 502 to hide & nap or they just don’t clean the bunks. The bunk had no linens, black footprints on the mattress cover, a mostly full Pepsi can wedged into the mattress with lipstick on it, jewelry & dirty tooth plaque pickers. It was FULL of sand. Housekeeping only brought sheets with no real apology & later texted offering a “full service” cleaning. ROOMS SHOULD BE CLEANED BEFORE GUESTS ARRIVE. PAID FOR SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS SHOULD BE USABLE! The room also stunk & the beds are uncomfortable anyway. The good reviews are due to the restaurant and the exterior paint job at the hotel. This is not a safe or clean place for families with children. All this for triple the price of a nicer hotel in Florida or literally any other beach. $1700 for 3 nights lmao. Go to Charleston and live nice for that money. This is roadside motel scummy with a tiki bar.
